How did you first learn about periods?

I first learned about periods in elementary school when a girl in my class got hers at recess!

Do you remember your first period conversation? Who was it with and what was that like?

We were outside at recess and we noticed the girl was bleeding thru her clothing. I was so scared, we didn’t know what was happening to her. Later we learned about periods and the changes our bodies go through by watching a video during physical education.

When did you get your first period?

I got my first period at 13.

How was it? What happened?

I was at home and went to use the bathroom. I noticed that I got my period so I showed my mom and she started crying. She then explained how to use a pad. My dad bought me some new shoes to celebrate :)

Do you try to take extra care of yourself while on your period? If so, how?

I do! Normally I try to exercise and eat right before and during my period as I can have really bad PMS symptoms if I don't.

What are your favorite period products?

My favorite period product is the nixit!

Have the last challenging months affected your period and if so, how did you best navigate?

The only difference I’ve noticed is my eating habits not being as great, and so it causes for more painful periods. But as long as I self care, I’ll be fine!
