FAQs

Will the nixit menstrual disc fit me?

When the sides are pinched together for insertion, nixit is the same size as a regular tampon. Since our disc is soft and flexible, it is easy to insert, no matter your shape or size.

Can I use a menstrual disc if I have an IUD?

nixit menstrual disc is safe to wear with an IUD when used as directed, but we do recommend consulting with your physician before first use regarding your particular IUD.

What is the difference between a menstrual disc and a menstrual cup?

We refer to nixit as a menstrual disc due to the fact that it does not use suction to stay in place and has a circular shape. Traditional menstrual cups are bell shaped and sit in your vagina, whereas nixit sits in your vaginal fornix. Both menstrual discs and menstrual cups collect your flow even though they sit in different places, so we are happy to be called a cup or a disc!

How does a menstrual disc work?

nixit menstrual disc sits underneath your cervix and collects your flow.  At least every 12 hours, you remove the disc, empty the contents, wash it and then re-insert it. We have some great ‘how-to’ videos here

Love it!

I’ve tried other styles of menstrual cups and this one is so much easier and more comfortable. If you are on the fence about trying one, just go ahead and purchase it. I don’t think you’ll have regrets.

I recommend this product

The most comfortable HIGH CAPACITY DISC!

Pros: - Truly high capacity at 70 ml. I slept comfortably, all night, on my heaviest flow day and not one single leak! I used to bleed through super plus and super tampons in a couple hours on my heaviest days - Very soft moldable silicone. Feels good. - No bladder pressure - easy to pee, no firmness - Double rim keeps it secure - Easy to clean -Packaging is cute, disc instructions are thorough for newbies. Cons; - Removal is messy. PERIOD. Messier than other discs! My advice is to let it auto dump first for as long as you can, wipe your vagina, then use your thumb to dislodge it from your pubic bone slowly and gently. This has created less mess for me. Removing it in the shower is good too. - Insertion is difficult compared to other discs because it's so big and soft. It enters the vagina easily but travels through the canal a bit slower. However, once properly inserted it is very comfortable! - Pushing it behind the cervix can be hard since it's soft, it wants to collapse on itself, you have to have patience. I have worn discs for YEARS. This isn't new to me. I have tried to Saalt regular, flex reusable, hello, and the Cora soft. This is most comfy high capacity disc I've tried. If you overflow your menstrual discs or have to auto dump frequently, I would recommend this.

Life changing!

My only regret is not buying this sooner. I am never going back to tampons/pads.
