FAQs
Will the nixit menstrual disc fit me?
When the sides are pinched together for insertion, nixit is the same size as a regular tampon. Since our disc is soft and flexible, it is easy to insert, no matter your shape or size.
Can I use a menstrual disc if I have an IUD?
nixit menstrual disc is safe to wear with an IUD when used as directed, but we do recommend consulting with your physician before first use regarding your particular IUD.
What is the difference between a menstrual disc and a menstrual cup?
We refer to nixit as a menstrual disc due to the fact that it does not use suction to stay in place and has a circular shape. Traditional menstrual cups are bell shaped and sit in your vagina, whereas nixit sits in your vaginal fornix. Both menstrual discs and menstrual cups collect your flow even though they sit in different places, so we are happy to be called a cup or a disc!
How does a menstrual disc work?
nixit menstrual disc sits underneath your cervix and collects your flow. At least every 12 hours, you remove the disc, empty the contents, wash it and then re-insert it. We have some great ‘how-to’ videos here

Great for trades and travel
I have had my nixit disc for several years. There was a bit of a learning curve but since I got the hang of it I've loved it. As a tradeswoman I sometimes find myself in situations where my hands are very dirty and as such I have been grateful for the 'self-emptying' feature many times but never moreso than while traveling. I recently went on a trip where I had a lot of airport time and long flights, and not having to remove and wash the disc in a public washroom every time I used one was a godsend!!! So thanks for making a great product for us bleeders :)
Almost perfect
Just finished my second cycle with this and I really appreciate the fact that it auto-dumps a lot of the time, which facilitates the process of wearing it. Mostly leak free, but on the first day or two sometimes I still get leakages so I wear period underwear as backup. Perhaps it’s because I have a heavier flow on those days or I’m still getting the hang of this thing!
Amazing!
This has been the BEST purchase I have made for my health and lifestyle! The nixit is so easy to use, and the instructions were great! I was very nervous to have something so far up my vagina, but after a couple of times wearing it, it feels like a breeze! It makes me feel like I am not on my period at all, and my cramps have significantly decreased in intensity. I would recommend the nixit to anyone! As a bonus, sex is so easy during my period now! Before, I had absolutely NO desire to have period sex. Now it doesn’t bother me one bit! :)
