History of Galentine’s Day
According to the Atlantic , “It started as fiction. In a 2010 episode of Parks and Recreation , Leslie, creative and crafty and bursting with kindness for the people she loves, invented a way to do something American culture hadn’t traditionally been too good at doing: celebrating, in an official capacity, the joys of female friendship. Leslie set Galentine’s Day as a festival that would fall, each year, on February 13: Valentine’s Day-eve.”
At nixit, we believe that celebrating friendship is just as important as honoring love between partners, which is why we wanted to remind you to grab a pal and carve out some time in your schedule to have a little fun during February.
Despite the fact that it can be a challenge to set aside time to spend with friends we are hopeful you will be more motivated to create memories with your bestie (even if it is super cold in your part of the world). Because making memories is what life is really all about, right?
We surveyed our family and friends to come up with some top-notch ideas for you! Some are pretty chill while others are a bit more on the extravagant side. The ideas you find in this post should fit any budget- just like our menstrual cup . Sorry, I couldn’t help myself. 😂
