nixit menstrual disc
At nixit, we make using a menstrual cup simple. Our disc-style, one-size-fits-all cup is made from ultra-soft, 100% medical-grade silicone, perfect for comfort and leak protection. Unlike firmer options, softer cups like our menstrual disc adapt to your body for a secure fit when inserted properly.
Thanks to its stem-free, suction-free design, this reusable menstrual disc sits comfortably behind the pubic bone, held in place by your anatomy. It holds up to 70ml of fluid (ideal for a heavy period) and allows for mess-free period sex and IUD use.
Easy to insert and remove, the nixit menstrual disc might just be a game changer when it comes to menstrual discs for anyone looking to simplify their cycle. Now FSA/HSA eligible!

FAQs
Will the nixit menstrual disc fit me?
When you create a pinched disc by squeezing the sides together for insertion, nixit is the same size as a regular tampon. Since it’s soft and flexible, it’s easy to insert, no matter your shape or size.
While there may be a slight learning curve for first-time users, most find the insertion process intuitive once they practice a few times. The ultra-soft material molds to your body for a comfortable fit, unlike other discs that may feel rigid or uncomfortable.
Is the nixit menstrual disc reusable or disposable?
The nixit menstrual disc is a fully reusable product that can be cleaned with ease. One major benefit is cost savings on removing the need to keep purchasing traditional menstrual products. Switching to a reusable menstrual disc is a game-changer for both your wallet and the environment.
Can I use a menstrual disc if I have an IUD?
The nixit disc is safe to wear with an IUD when used as directed, but we do recommend consulting with your physician before first use regarding your particular IUD. The menstrual disc sits snugly without creating suction, which is why it's generally safe for IUD users when inserted with a clean finger.
What is the difference between a menstrual disc and a menstrual cup?
nixit does not use suction to stay in place and has a circular shape. Traditional reusable menstrual cups are bell-shaped and sit in your vaginal canal, whereas nixit sits in your vaginal fornix. Both discs and cups collect your flow, even though they sit in different places, so we are happy to be called a cup or a disc!
How does a menstrual disc work?
The nixit disc sits underneath your cervix and collects your flow. At least every 12 hours, you remove it, empty the contents, wash it, and then re-insert it.
To insert, pinch the menstrual disc and guide it back, then push the disc upward and back until the front rim tucks securely behind your pubic bone. For removal, wash your hands thoroughly, then use your index finger to gently separate the disc from this position. Simply rinse your menstrual disc with warm water between insertions to prevent bacterial infection.
What is autodumping with a menstrual disc?
Autodumping is a normal feature of many silicone menstrual discs. When you sit on the toilet and relax, the disc may release some fluid into the toilet due to natural pressure changes - not because it moved. Once you stand up, it usually re-seals and keeps working as normal. To be extra secure, you can always check that the disc has gone back to being tucked behind the pubic bone.
Is autodumping messy or a sign that the disc isn’t fitted properly?
Autodumping should only happen when you’re on the toilet—not during everyday movement or activities. If you notice leaks outside the bathroom, the disc may not be the right size or positioned correctly. When it fits properly, autodumping lets you wear the disc longer without taking it out.
Does the nixit menstrual disc have a pull tab or string?
The nixit menstrual disc does not feature a pull tab or string, for good reason! Our simple design allows for easy insertion and removal, removing the risk of a pull tab or string moving around and becoming difficult to locate or uncomfortable.
