FAQs
Will nixit fit me?
When being inserted, nixit is the same size as a regular tampon. Since our cup is soft and flexible, it is easy to insert, no matter your shape or size.
Can I use nixit if I have an IUD?
nixit is safe to wear with an IUD when used as directed, but we do recommend consulting with your physician before first use regarding your particular IUD.
What is the difference between a menstrual disc and a menstrual cup?
Some people refer to nixit as a menstrual disc due to the fact that it does not use suction to stay in place and has a circular shape. Traditional menstrual cups are bell shaped and sit in your vagina, whereas nixit sits in your vaginal fornix. We call nixit a menstrual cup as menstrual cups collect your flow - it doesn’t matter to us where they sit, but we are happy to be called a cup or a disc!
How does it work?
nixit sits underneath your cervix and collects your flow. At least every 12 hours, you remove nixit, empty the contents, wash it and then re-insert it. We have some great ‘how-to’ videos here
